Hadithi Medium Baskets
The Hadithi Baskets are made out of sisal grown locally in the Taita Valley, Kenya. The fibre from the leaves of the sisal plant is rolled into twine, and then woven into these beautiful creations.
The Taita ladies from Kasigau Weaver's Group dye the fibres themselves and then roll the twine on their lap. Making baskets is a very labour intensive art. Each basket is truly one of a kind and a poetic ode to the talented ladies of Taita Valley.
When you buy Hadithi handicrafts, you are actively helping to provide an income for over 1100 ladies from an agricultural community.
